Favourite thing to do in science: Experiments, obviously! I love the discovery element of science and especially identifying how chemicals make a difference to our lives. My favourite chemical reaction is a Birch reduction, purely for the colour blue it generates.
My Work: We make new heterocycles to arrest cell cycles with the ultimate aim of developing drugs to treat diseases where the cell cycle is out of kilter.
My Typical Day: lasts 24 hours and every one is different.
What I'd do with the money: Buy resources and donate to a local charity to help kids with learning difficulties get into science
