Favourite thing to do in science: Experiments, obviously! I love the discovery element of science and especially identifying how chemicals make a difference to our lives. My favourite chemical reaction is a Birch reduction, purely for the colour blue it generates.
We make new heterocycles to arrest cell cycles with the ultimate aim of developing drugs to treat diseases where the cell cycle is out of kilter.
