Not a new medicine (yet- i’ve only been a scientist for a couple of years, it can take between 10-20 to make a new medicine!), but I have worked on a new reaction to make it easier to make a medicine that is already used. It was for a mental illness, and we were working on a way to make the whole route to the medicine (lots of different reaction steps) more environmentally friendly and faster.

I hope that the reactions I have been researching during my PhD will be used by someone for making new medicines one day!
