• Question: If Ebola breaks out again will the drug be fully developed to fight it

      Hi 225drud42,
      The Ebola vaccine that was tested by ring vaccination in west Africa demonstrated very high levels of protction against virus infection. Other vaccines are being continued to be developed. Hopefully, if the momentum stays strong, we will fully complete these trials and have a vaccine that can be stockpiled so that it’s ready to roll out the next time that there is an Ebola outbreak.
      The drug field are also working to see what drugs would work. I’m biased, but I believe prevention is better than cure, so if we can vaccinate against the disease and if it works, then that’s the best option.
