  Ok, I love fireworks – they bring out my inner child and what got me into science in the first place. For me, fireworks are chemistry in it’s most entertaining form -you have chemical reactions releasing energy in the form of different sounds and lights. It’s not something I can really do as a hobby as you need to be trained and qualified to handle potentially expolosive material. However I can still enjoy a good firworks display.
  working in the pharmaceutical industry helps me fulfil the need to help other humans and try and make a this a better place to live and also gives me lots of scientific questions to answer.
  Maybe when I’m older I will see if I can train as a pyrotechnician (not sure where you can do that in Ireland) and i can satisfy my inner child once more!
