I do believe in the big bang because we do have evidence for it- the expansion of the universe!

I don’t actually know what caused it though, and I think it’s a puzzle that scientists are still arguing about! Some people think its from the other side of a black hole (a white hole), some think that the universe is in a cycle of expansion and rapid contractions (it explodes then implodes over and over), others that there are lots of universe bubbles that create other universe bubbles. Some people say that there is no cause because before the big bang there was nothing, and how could nothing cause something?

      Personally, I haven’t a clue.

I do believe in the big bang as we still so much evidence that supports the theory as to how it happened that is something that really confuses me! Maybe this is a series of big bangs over gazillions of years and we are just in a constant flow of expansion then massive contraction into a single big bang. Although it sometimes hurts my brain to think that the big bang happened all around us, it happened here beside me and it happened there beside you as it one point all space and time was converged on an infinitely small point! I think I will leave that for the physicists!

It’s the most convincing theory to date to explain the origin of the universe but as with any theory unless there is definite proof it can be undone. The big bang accounts for all of the material in the known universe but there is so much we cannot see that there is likely to be an explanation which will eventually succeed it.
The second question is very relevant as the next question is what started the big bang or what was there before the big bang. This may be impossible to answer as we can only see material that was generated at the big bang and not before.
