      If we can prove that it is the most effective and safe way to treat chronic pains or illness, then of course we should prescribe marijuana. But like with all medicine we need to be very careful with making sure it’s safe, used correctly and not abused.

      Marijuana does have the potential to be therapeutic in many illnesses but we do have to manage the ‘side effects’ that come with that and therefore the clinical benefits would really have to be proven scientifically

      The key to this is to regulate it such that an accurate dosage can be administered and that dosage is consistent. Full scientific and clinical trails are needed to ensure the safety of a medicine and we have learned from history not to treat this lightly. This approach would also decriminalise it.
