LCMS is a technique that allows mixtures to be separated (LC) and their components be weighed (MS). LCMS stands for Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry and so essentially what we do in this lab is separate and weight the molecules in a mixture from samples that are provided by people/companies/researchers. This is invaluable to a lot of careers and industries where the identification of molecules is necessary (think CSI!).
